We’ve finally received all the info on the parade celebrating the Black and Gold’s appearance in the “Big Game” on Sunday…

The parade rolls from the Superdome at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, February 9th…

According to the NOPD, the floats will roll south on Poydras toward the river, and then take a right on Loyola.  The procession will then roll left on to Howard Avenue, around Lee Circle, and on to St. Charles Avenue.

After rolling down St. Charles, the parade will turn left on to Canal Street, then make a U-turn on Canal at North Rampart.

The floats will then head back down Canal to Tchopitoulas, take a right on to Convention Center Boulevard, before disbanding at Mardi Gras World.

A link to a map of the route is posted below.  A Championship Parade…wouldn’t that be a great addition to Mardi Gras, huh?!?!?  WHO DAT!!!!!

Voters who have already made their minds up don’t really need these debates. That’s apprx 70% of the people who vote. The undecided, that would be about 30% of voters, don’t really make their mind up just because of these debates. They decide when they get into the voting booth! Last nights debate was slightly better than the usual debates as it was a ‘town hall’ setting. The questions came from us regular folk. There’s only 1 more debate until we, the people, decide who the next President will be. By the 3rd debate, maybe I’ll pay more attention. Until then I’m undecided til I get in that booth and ‘pull the trigger’. No matter what, the next 8 years can only be better, right?

It was one year ago today that I stepped off the train in New Orleans. While I knew this would be an adventure, I couldn’t even begin to understand how rewarding it would be. I’ve been doing this radio thing for a long time – 30 years, to be exact – and I’ve never felt so welcome, and at home as I have here in New Orleans. From Day One, you the Bayou listener, made me feel wanted – and I cannot find the words to tell you how grateful I am for that!

The vibe of this city is phenomenal! Sure, we have problems, and lots of work to do, but the culture and character – combined with the people – insure that our community will prevail. I’m proud to be a part of the unique fabric that IS New Orleans, and hope to celebrate many more anniversaries here.

I do have some individual kudos I want to send out. First, I’d like to thank Drunk Ass Boss & The Corporate Cutthroats for hiring me, and giving me the opportunity to be part of New Orleans. I’m also thankful to the staff here at Bayou 95.7 for being so supportive and friendly – we truly treat one another as family here! I;m grateful to those of you who listen and call/write – y’all make my day! And special thanks go out to two people who’ve really been my beacon of light: My buddy The Pizza Man in The Warehouse District, who patiently helped transform this Dumb Assed Yankee into a reasonable facsimle of a NOLA resident, and Kat, who has faithfully and diligently been in my corner since the day I arrived.

The biggest props go to you, Workforce! You’ve hung with me and let me into your world, have tolerated the stupid sh*t I say on the radio and have introduced yourselves to me via e-mail, stopping by our events and on the phone. THANK YOU!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a dinner to attend. Big steaks, cold beer and hot babes :-) ! Don’t worry – Mama taught me well. I won’t get any on me!

Again, my most sincere thanks!

Mitch’s Perfect Woman?

She seems to REALLY like her beer, she’s pretty hot and she’s already (apparently) drunk. That’s MY kinda babe right there!

Alright, before anybody freaks out, the above paragraph is crude and shallow. If it offends you, go ahead and have another beer! :-)

coverdale-page.jpgOkay, yeah. We’ve heard it before, and I think maybe most of us are tired of the band that cried wolf. But there’s something about this announcement about an upcoming announcement that has my attention: David Coverdale.

In addition to being the singer for Whitesnake, Coverdale has also recorded and toured with Led Zep’s Jimmy Page. The fact that they have a relationship adds some amount of credibility. Also, the fact that Page, John Paul JonesJason Bonham and all have expressed a passionate desire to tour leads me to a theory. It’s out the box, but not beyond the realm of possibility. Hear me out, okay?

To date, the big sticking point in a full blown Zeppelin tour has been Robert Plant. What if the rest of the band decided to hit the road WITHOUT Plant? What if they’ve decided they can pull this off with Coverdale as their singer? I definitely think he has the range to pull it off, and with that much money at stake, (In U.S. dollars it’s around $489 million, with about $20 million apiece for the band members), it would just be ignorant NOT to do the tour.

Bet your ass I’ve got my ear to the grindstone on this one!

Any thoughts?

Lindsay Lohan warned Ashley Olsen to “get away” from her “girlfriend” — celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson — on Friday night, the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column reported.

Lyndsay LohanFirst my crush on Joan Jett is crushed, now this. Dammit, what’s a fella to do?

OK, not like I personally ever had a chance of a horizontal – or even vertical encounter – with Lindsay, but this could cause a serious disruption of any man’s fantasy life (or, could theoretically enhance it, should the proper visual confirmations make their way onto the interweb).

There’s something more important to news like this: there’s more important, actual, news. The economy, the presidential campaign, the war. A media blitz of every aspect of these chick’s (Lohan, Hilton, Spears, etc., et al) lives is fluff. In the big scheme of things it DOESN’T EFFING MATTER! Still these types of stories seem to rise to the top, and undermine the stuff we should really be concerned with.

That said, I’m not at all opposed to seeing the “intimate” pictorial evidence of Ms. Lohan’s conversion. :-)
