Thanx Charlie Sheen for making us reminisce about our favorite celebrity/prostitute scandals- Hugh Grant’s 1995 arrest in Hollywood with a lady of the night named Divine Brown. Danny Bonaduce was arrested for assault in 1991 after he hit a prostitute in his car after finding out the hooker was a man not a woman. Oooops! They all hate when that happens! And how could we forget Eddie Murphy’s 1997 encounter with a weepy trannie? What a DRAG!

Ozzy’s DNA has been tested by scientists recently. Why is he still alive?? Watch this video to find out. He is part NEANDERTHAL and his DNA traces back to to the same blood as JESSE JAMES! (The cool train robber not the douchebag who cheated on Sandra Bullock) Ozzy, it has been proven, is a medical miracle! Maybe the Geico Cavemen will open up for him at Voodoo Fest this Saturday.

I wonder what it’s like to be so awesome! Just in time for Halloween, Alice releases his Limited Edition Halloween Vinyl Package. And don’t forget to watch him this Halloween Weekend hosting a ‘Munsters Marathon’ on WGN! Perhaps for Halloween 2011, Alice will dress like a ROCK n ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE!

If you haven’t noticed…I like Van Halen. I like Van Halen A LOT! I like Dave-era VH. I like VH Sammy-style. I’m probably one of the few that thought Gary Charone did a pretty decent job with an incredibly difficult gig.

That’s why I scour the globe (ok, I look stuff up on the internet – no reason to nit-pick!) to find all things Van Halen. And when I come across something rare or unreleased, I put it here on my blog and share it with you.

Well…I came across a guy that absolutely kicked my a** as far as posting rare Van Halen stuff. I bow down to Chris Gossett, who has posted 75 rare VH tunes on his website. Not only does he have rare Van Halen songs, but also includes a handful of tunes from “The Van Halen Circle” (including Sammy Hagar & The Waboritas and Chickenfoot). Plus there are some rare jams including Eddie with Roger Waters and another with Patty Smyth.

There’s no way I could keep this gold mine to myself…enjoy!

Somewhere in Califonia, David Lee Roth’s grandmother has a basement full of lost/unreleased stuff, and every couple of weeks, she drags something out and sends it to The Metal Den.  Just to keep you interested in that new Van Halen album that will be out next year, don’t you know…

The latest offering from Grandma Roth is an extremely rare 1975 recording of Van Halen covering Led Zeppelin’s “Trampled Under Foot” (from Physical Graffiti).

I know you want to hear it…so here it is. You’re welcome.

Not too shabby…Steven Tyler sings National Anthem at Boston Bruins home opener on 10/21. This will be the last respectable thing he does before American Idol returns.

Steven Tyler put his cojones on ice tonight (10/21), and sang the National Anthem before a hometown Boston Bruins crowd.  How did Tyler fare on the notoriously difficult tune?  Listen here for yourself:

Slash Unplugs…

Posted in: Gonzo

While on tour in Australia, Slash played a rare acoustic show for an intimate audience of 300 fans at the University of Sydney.  Slash and Myles Kennedy performed a mix of Slash’s solo stuff with songs from Guns N’ Roses and velvet Revolver (What? No Alter Bridge? No Mayfield Four? I feel cheated…).

“This is the first time we’ve ever done an acoustic set…ever”
- Slash

Fortunately, the show was taped for Foxtel’s “Max Session”…and I have the entire 7 song set here for your dining and dancing pleasure…

Enjoy the show:

1) Patience

2) Back From Cali

3) Fall To Pieces

4) Starlight

5) By The Sword

6) Sweet Child O’ Mine

7) Civil War
